Inspired by Iceland Campaign Wins Gold at Effie

The tourism marketing campaign Inspired by Iceland campaign won gold at the European Effie marketing communications awards in Brussels.
The campaign was awarded in the category of social media as the advertising campaign which generated the most profits with the use of social media in Europe in 2011.
The campaign mostly involved promoting Iceland’s attractions and beauty through Facebook, Twitter and blogs, among other media. The campaign was considered so successful that the 20-person jury decided to grant it another award, the Grand Prix.
Reykjavik Hotels are proud to be a part of this sucessful campaign to rebuild the image of Iceland. The aim of this tourist campaign was not just to give a positive image of the country but also to encouraging people to visit the country by showing Iceland’s many unique and appealing attributes by allowing individuals to share their stories and memories of the country.
