28.12.2011
If you want to experience a true winter world then Iceland is the right place to come to.
It is a great idea to the breath taking New Years eve with all the spectacular fireworks and you can even get to see the Northern Lights at the same time.
Icelandic law place no restriction on the use of fireworks, and for that reason the most distinguishing characteristic of an Icelandic New Year’s Eve are the spectacular fireworks show that the Icelandic people put on.
Firework goes on all night and with the peak at midnight. After midnight Icelanders celebrate the new year at home or gather downtown.
The best time of the year for viewing the Aurora Borealis is the period from September to April but can only be seen on a clear night. Northern lights is undoubtly one of the most spectacular, beautiful and enchanting of nature’s phenomena. To look skywards on a crisp, clear night and see these giant curtains of colored light weaving and swaying, gliding and flowing gracefully across the northerly heavens is pure magic.
Something you will remember for the rest of your life.
